Kamloops, located in the Province of British Columbia, is one of the most lively urban communities in all of Canada. Ranked 37th out of the 100 largest metropolitan areas in the country, you can be sure there's always something going on in Kamloops. The word Kamloops means “meeting of the rivers,” and as the name suggests, the city is located on the meeting grounds of two branches of the Thompson river. It is also situated near Kamloops Lake. The city has some of the most beautiful mixtures of urban and natural landscaping in the region.

If you're feeling particularly classy, it would be a good idea to take a look at the Western Canada Theater too. For the icing on the cake, you certainly can't forget to listen to a performance by the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra. Not only will these places make you feel like you're a prominent figure in any society, but they also make great date spots as well.

Kamloops can get pretty hot, pretty cold, and pretty humid at times, so it's a good idea to always be prepared. If you're planning to stay in the city for an extended period of time, make sure to buy appropriate protection for you and your belongings. This includes things like jackets, a hot tub cover, pool and car covers, and so on. Kamloops also has the highest recorded summer temperature. It makes sence that such a vibrant city would have such a vibrant temperature range though.

One of the things Kamloops is best known for however, is their Hockey Team. Check out both the Blazers and the Storm (if you keep up with Junior Hockey) when you visit if you consider yourself a true sports fan. To be fair to the other great sports the city has to offer, the Kamloops Rattlers (Lacrosse), Broncos (Football), and Excel (Soccer), and also viable options. It's perfectly ok if you decide to check out more than one of these great teams, however.
