Hot Tub Covers Shawinigan
Welcome to Shawinigan, formerly known as Shawinigan Falls! This city is full of mystery and intrigue, and is a great place to enjoy nature no matter what time of year you visit. Be sure you have a French-English dictionary, however, as this city is comprised mostly of French speaking citizens.
One of the most notable sites of Shawinigan is the “Trou du Diable” or “Devil’s Hole.” This is a mysterious swirl that is located in the Saint-Maurice River. Legend says that there is no bottom, and anyone who falls into it cannot be rescued. It is in fact a creek, with the last 980 meters being underground. In order to get through the entire cave, you have to crawl through at some points. This trek is not for the faint of heart, but is definitely a trek you won’t soon forget!
The city is home to Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s Shawinigan Cataractes. It’s interesting to note that they are the only team in the league that still plays in the same city that it was founded in. While there is no NHL team in the city, you’ll still find plenty of Habs fans (a nickname for the Montreal Canadiens.) Many are showing their support for their favorite team by purchasing NHL logo spa covers. An NHL branded hot tub cover is the perfect accessory for that relaxing soak after a long hard day.
La Mauricie National Park is definitely a must-see. Take a 45 canoe ride down the St. Mauricie River and then a 45 minute hike, to end up at Les Chutes Waber. The scenery along the way is amazing and you’ll get a good workout as well. There are also boat tours that cruise along the river, and tell you everything you need to know about the saw and paper mill industries.
D'Arbre en Arbre Shawinigan is a great destination if you’d like to try your hand at zip-lining. Escape into the towering treetops high above the ground and maneuver around 74 obstacles that get progressively more intense as you go along. It’s perfect for those who want to experience nature and adventure at the same time. For those who would rather stay on the ground, try the 9-hole golf course, located just south of the city.
La Route Verte is an extensive and impressive network of trails that covers over 3,600 kilometers of terrain. The trail winds through historic towns, rivers, lakes, forests and larger cities. Even if you only do small parts of the trail, you will see landscapes and nature at its best. The trail is still being completed, and will be over 4,000 kilometers long when it’s completed. After doing this bike trail, you’ll definitely want to go back to your hotel, lift back the hot tub cover and ease your sore muscles!
For a fun-filled family day, try Energy City (La Cite de l'energie). The theme park offers a variety of activities, such as outdoor performances, multimedia presentations and interactive exhibitions. There is also an observation tower and beautiful gardens to enjoy. You’ll also learn about the region’s industrial history.
